Round Barn Wine Camp is a hands-on adventure to not only learn how wine gets from the grape to the glass but to actually make wine with your camp partner. We've even narrowed it down to the 2 best parts; harvesting (in October) and blending & bottling (in May).
Although our camp experience is quite casual, it will cover topics such as vineyard work, the terroir of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA, the art of winemaking and blending and more. Your Camp Counselors, AKA our Winemaker and staff, will guide you in crafting 2 cases of your very own red wine! To break it down, you’ll participate in the behind the scenes work, drink a little wine, learn a lot, and have a ton of fun all the while.
In keeping with the Scout Motto, ‘Always be prepared’, we ask that you bring along weather appropriate clothing - a rain poncho and yard gloves - as it’s a rain or shine hike into the vineyard. You can however leave behind your cooking gear as our caterers will serve deliciously paired appetizers elevating the experience so it feels a bit more like Glamping. Don’t worry though, the camp shtick isn’t taken too literally...you’ll return home to sleep in the comfort of your own bed.
This is a private event, limited to 25 couples, with time to talk with and learn from our Winemaker and staff. Each two-some will receive the following:
Bottling dates for 2016 Red Wine Experience will be in May 2017.

Cancellation Policy & Bottling Charges
Due to the limited availability of these events, you may cancel 30 days before the date of your class for a full refund. Cancellations made after that date will be charged the full amount. You may still take part in your winemaking experience if you miss the first date; we will produce your wine for you so that you may take part in the bottling process.
If you are unable to attend the bottling date in the spring, we will bottle your wine for you at a charge of $1 per bottle + shipping.
